Gingerbread House

Every year i attempt to make a Gingerbread House .... every year i have been unsuccessful .... until 2011.

I did it .... squeals of delight ... it is amazing ....

I purchased a new mould from the Chefs Toolbox ... it is awesome .... you bake the gingerbread in the silicone mould making for a perfect house to build ... someone also told me that the icing needs to be really thick to ensure it holds it all together.

i had some wonderful little helpers along the way ......

late last night i sat down and stuck it all together (when my helpers were asleep)

this morning it was ready to be decorated

Mitch did a great job with the decorating

then we hand delievered to some special people

we hope you enjoy it MARTIN family xoxox

A pinecone christmas tree

This has got to be one of the most simple but adorable Christmas crafts we have made .....

You will need:

An open pinecone
A variety of colored small craft pom poms (we got ours from our local junkie shop)
Craft glue
Milk bottle lid

How to:

Glue the bottle top lid onto the bottom of the pinecone (large end)
Have the child place the pom poms into the open parts of the pinecone (these can be glued into place if you wish)
Once the child is done .... Place the pinecone on the table and enjoy this simple decoration ....

Another week has passed since my last post ...

.... It was a great week ... My last week of work until the new year ... Don't get me wrong I love what I do ... But after a while of caring for four children 4yrs and under ...... I need a break.

This morning I headed off to the shops to get a new haircut for Christmas .... I like it .....

This afternoon sees us digging up some clay patches in the front yard tom replace them with some nice soft grass for the children to enjoy ... I know Mitch is a big fan ... No more hard tackles on the clay patches.

I posted our new range (Afternoon Tea Party) in the My Heart Flutters shop this week ..... Some truly divine handmade felt food .... At present we have strawberries, apples, tea bags, pasta and donuts ... Many more items to come

This weekend sees me working on another new product line ..... It is still under wraps at the moment until I have finished it ..... They are simply adorable

I will be back a little later with a simple Christmas craft idea that you and your little ones can work on this week .....

Until then ... Take care

A busy weekend

It's beginning to look a lot like christmas ....

Christmas tree is up and decorated ... We have put up our breakable decorations on the Christmas wall .... Christmas carols play throughout the day .....

We finished off our christmas gift list on Saturday ... The shops were crazy busy .... So glad to have it all wrapped and under the tree ....

It was a memorable day for Emma on Saturday ... Very first haircut ... Not as successful as planned .... One hairdresser wanted to charge me $27.00 to trim her fringe and tidy up the back into a cute little bob .... As most of you are aware her hair isn't that long .... We passed on paying $27.00 ... Another hairdresser charged me $5.00 ... So we went with them ... Miss Emma is now sporting a cute little bob.

My Heart Flutters attended the Rock a bye baby markets at Strathpine ... It was a little quieter than normal ... But we still did pretty good ... We have booked in for the February markets .... We are also working on a new range of products called "afternoon tea party" ... We can't wait to show you what this is all about ....

Mitch has been saving his pocket money to purchase the diary of a wimpy kid book number 5 ... He hasn't put it down since we bought it.

Sunday was spent offering around the house in the morning doing odd jobs ... Whilst I was painting my nails a very festive co our miss Emma decided that she would like hers done as well ... Whilst I didn't think it was appropriate ti paint her fingernails I did however paint her toenails ... She sat there like a big girl and was quite proud of her new toes .....

The afternoon was spent at my sisters house enjoying their company ... The kids swam in the pool whilst the adults chatted ....

I finished off some presents for the family day care children to hand out this week ... So happy it is the last week of care ... I love my little fdc children but by the end of the year I am so exhausted .... Looking forward to the new challenges 2012 has to offer ....

Oo am also very pleased that there is no school runs or lunches to organize for the next 6 weeks xoxox

Take care of you and your families xoxo

My baby girl is no longer a baby

Well it is official ...miss Emma is no longer a baby ... She is a walking, talking, self sufficient toddler. She knows what she wants and she wont give up until she gets it. Just recently we had a lot of troubles at bed time ... Lots of screaming and kicking ... Eventually after a few nights of control crying and routine tweaking we got her to fall asleep by herself at 6.30pm. She wakes at 6.00am most mornings and we enjoy some quiet time before the rest of the house wakes. We are enjoying our late afternoon walks to the park before bath time ... This has become apart of our routine ....

Her vocabulary is increasing more and more each day ... Her words at the moment include: mum, dad, ta, bye, hello, shoes, cheese, na na (banana) and our newest word today is baby. I love the way she says baby ... It is oh so cute.

she needs to be kept busy ... Outside play is our favourite thing to do ... Water play, jumping on the tramp, sliding down the slide, playing in the ball pit ... We don't like television ... No wiggles or hi-5 for us .... We read lots of books, draw and enjoy a lovely cup of tea from the tea set ... She loves her brother .... Mitchell is a very hard word to say for an almost 15month old girl ... She has her own little word that she uses instead ... He knows that she is talking to him ... The age difference doesn't appear to be a problem.

I miss my baby girl ... But am loving my little toddler ... I guess she will always be my baby girl

Time flies when you are having fun xoxo

My goodness ... How quick has the past few weeks gone ... I can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner ... Have you organized your Christmas gift list yet .... I started mine the other day ...

Santa arrived at our local shops yesterday ... He was very busy listening to lots of little children .... We gave it a miss yesterday ....

I held a stall at the Rock a Bye children's market yesterday (it was my first real market) .. I had lots of fun and meet some fantastic fellow crafters ... I had a successful day ... Sold out of Ruby and Friends dolls and crayon rolls..... The little peg doll angels were also a success ...
Lots of great comments and kind words from everyone who stopped by ....

I have a busy week ahead of me restocking for the upcoming Twilight Markets at Bounty Boulevard State School ... Am in the process of sewing a big batch of Ruby dolls ... And I must say they are looking delightfully adorable.

If you are in the North Lakes area stop by the Twilight Markets and pick up some great little Christmas presents for your loved ones.

Well i must be off ... Lots to do ...
