Wow ... it has been a while

So sorry for my lack of posts .... life got in the way.  So much has happened since I last blogged.

The family is all good, Miss Emma turned two just recently (such a fun age).  We are experiencing tantrums which are bought on by lots of things .... the most significant one is having to share her Mummy with eight other children throughout the week.  I love her so much, but boy can she bring me to tears.  As I sit here and type this ... she is playing hairdressers with my hair.

Master Mitch is a few weeks away from turning nine.  We are working through some issues with him too ... attitude is a big one and not listening.

I thought the 7 year age gap would be easier, but I actually think it is harder :( ... we are working through things as they arrise.

The last time I posted I mentioned that our fort was in need of a serious makeover.  I recently took a week off from care and the fort got the makeover it so desperately needed.  I love it and the children love it.  A fun place to play, learn and grow.

We through Emma a Sesame Street themed birthday party which she really enjoyed.  Who doesn't love Sesame Street.  I loved it as it was a really simple theme.  Lots of colour, simple food and some great family and friends to help celebrate.

I have created so many new items for My Heart Flutters including dolls, crochet goodness (bunting, hats, booties) and so much more.

I aim to post more regulary on life (good and bad, happy and sad), new items going up on My Heart Flutters, our family day care experiences and so much more.  I hope you enjoy sharing these experiences with me.

Take care

A little makeover on our play fort ....

When my oldest son was younger, my husband built the most awesome fort. Now that he is older he doesn't tend to play in there much ... However a certain little girl now enjoys this play space ... Over the next few days/weeks I plan on transforming the boys fort into a little girls dream ...

Today Miss Emma and I washed down the chalkboards and applied a fresh coat of blackboard paint (she did a wonderful job with her pretend paint) ... I am hoping that no one wants to draw on them as they look so nice and new ...

Keep an eye out for photos of our progress ... I am thinking curtains, cushions, bunting and so much more.

Take care xoxox

What a weekend ...

A busy weekend at My Heart Flutters Headquarters ....

Saturday morning I headed off to the All About Kids Market that my son's school was running... It was great to catch up and meet some wonderful stall holders as well as the hardworking P&C Committee.

I spent most of the afternoon cutting out some new style dresses I hope to have up soon ... A quick drive in the car to give Miss Emma a powernap asse has decided tat she no longer requires an afternoon nap ... Making for a very cranky 18month old.

Mitchell spent the morning with is grandparents enjoying the stage production of How to Train Your Dragon ... He was super excited to go and by the sounds of it thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sunday a quick clean of the house was in order with some loud music and dancing (best way to do housework I say) ... Followed by Mitchell's first football game of the season. Under 9s is tough and there are some big kids out there. Mitch did really well and even managed to score a try ... Was unlucky with the conversion though.

The afternoon was spent at Bribie, dropping Mitchell off for a sleep over, a quick ice cream on our way home and then finished the day off with a little bit of relaxing

our weekend

Saturday we all headed off in the car to various destinations .... emma, my mum and i dropped the boys and poppy off at the boat show and then we headed onto the sewing and craft expo. we arrived before the doors opened and waited about 5 minutes before entering. there was so much to see and do but with an 18mth old tagging along we needed to work fast to see everything.

we managed to walk up and down each of the isles and stopped at various stalls to grab some goodies .(i was so excited to finally find the lace that i have been searching for for quite a long time) before Miss Emma decided that she had had enough. we snuck back to a few of the stalls to grab some last minute things.

i love the little stash of goodies i grabbed and am going to have so much fun creating some handmade goodness with them

Sunday was spent out in the gardens, weeding, pruning, planting and chopping ... all the fun things that need to be done to keep the place looking nice. Mitchell and Emma were great little helpers and it was decided that a treat was needed .... so on the way to the dump we stopped off at the bakery where everyone got a surprise (even mummy and daddy)

then it was off to mum and dads for a bbq lunch to celebrate dads birthday tomorrow.

hope your weekend was as eventful and enjoyable as ours.

Camping and a crochet pattern

This past weekend we packed up the car and headed off to our favourite camping ground at Cotton Tree. We left as soon as I had finished care on Friday and were set up before the sun went down.
The rain held off until late Friday night and when we woke on Saturday it appeared to be set in.

There was fish and chips, a little girl with a teething temp, swimming, rain, catching some big waves, footy on the sand, pancakes, guess who, bacon and eggs, more rain, crochet, a rock phobia, no photos, a very tired mummy and some more rain.

Even though the rain came and stayed and everything got wet, we had a great time.

As promised, here is the pattern I use to make these cute little crochet flowers ...

ch 2
Rd 1: work 6sc into the 2nd ch from hook
Rd 2: work 2sc in each stitch around, join with sl st (12sc)
Rd3: ch 2, skip a stitch (sc in next stitch, ch 2) repeat 5 times join with a sl st (you should have 6 ch2 spaces)
Rd4: work (st st, ch2, 3dc, ch2, st st) into each ch2 space around (6 petals)
Fasten off and weave in ends

I hope you enjoy creating these adorable little flowers and using them to decorate your scrapbooking pages, cards etc....

Hope you all have a great day .... I will be back tomorrow with a sneak peak of our new Easter singlets.

Make Over ....

My Heart Flutters has undergone a make over .... what do you think .... hoping it is a little easier to navigate.

It has been a while since we have posted on this blog ... it seems to get forgotten with all the other stuff that goes on ... facebook, pinterest, completing orders, housework, children's after school commitments ... etc etc.

I am aiming to make blogging a more regular thing .... Baby steps first ... maybe one blog post a week and hopefully increasing to two to three.

I would love to participate in the Wordless Wednesday Challenge that I have seen floating around ... so stayed tuned for that.

You may find some stories on here that do not grab you ... but please pop back from time to time as you may find something that does.

Till next time xoxox
